GEMS SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

What a difference a week makes. Last week we were enjoying Indian Summer and this week it's time for warm jackets, toques and gloves. We as counselors are eager to start another GEMS year and really enjoyed getting to know all the girls at the corn maze a couple of weeks ago. No one was lost for very long and a lot of fun was had by all.

Welcome to GEMS in Nobleford!! This year we have many exciting events planned and we hope that many of you will be able to come. I would like to introduce to you the women who have so graciously donated their time to mentor your girls this year. Our theme this year is "Prayer, No Worries" from Philippians 4:6. Often this is easier said than done, but our year will consist of ways the girls and otheres can learn to put this into practice.

Grade 2 - Mary Busz - 403-394-7614
Grade 3 - Dayna Hummel - 403-732-5163, Shelby Konynenbelt - 403-824-3988
Grade 4 - Brittany Prestage - 403-394-2393
Grade 5 - Diane Kooy -403-824-3623
Grade 6 - Shauna Konynenbelt - 403-824-3280
Grade 7

Grade 8 - Vanessa Nieboer - 403-824-3940
Grade 9 - Lorinda Veenendaal - 403-381-1329
CIT - Nicole Postman - 403-824-3421

** New Pickup Policy ** As stated last year we would like parents to come into the church to pick up their daughter. The front doors will be locked and we ask that the girls enter and exit through the side door located on the south side of the church. Those walking will be allowed to leave but please let me or their counselor know. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
Dues for the 2009-10 GEMS  season will remain at $35/girl with a maximum of $70/family. If you have a concern regarding dues please contact Diane Kooy. No girl will be denied the GEMS experience. Deadline for payment is Monday, November 2, 2009.

On Friday, October 16 the GEMS Counselors will once again host the Annual Fall Ladies Night. Our evening will begin at 7:30 pm in the Nobleford CRC basement. Please come for an evening of fun, games, delicious food and fellowship. We hope to See You There!

On Sunday, October 25 we will be singing in the Senior’s Homes in Lethbridge. We ask that all girls make every effort to attend. We will be offering rides from the church so if you need a ride please be at the church at 1:20pm and we should return around 3:45pm. In the past this activity has been part of our theme badge and will continue to be, so we ask that each girl at least try to make it to one of these times. Please refer to your calendar for future dates.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Blessings for a wonderful year.
