Dear Supporters of Christian Education:
You are cordially invited to attend the 15th annual Participation
Drive Dinner for Immanuel Christian Schools. The 2011 Dinner will be Thursday,
March 3; doors open at 6 pm with the dinner to begin at 6:30pm in ICHS large
gym. The goal of the Participation Drive Dinner remains the same, to keep
Christian Education affordable for all. A canvasser will be contacting you in
the next couple of weeks so please consider Immanuel Christian Schools in part
of your giving plan. Our featured speaker this year is Rev. Chad Vandervalk, pastor of the Charlottetown Christian Reformed
Church and former ICHS student. The program also includes a delicious meal
prepared by Creative Cooks and entertainment by our Senior High Choir and the Jubilate Chorus. Donations are gratefully accepted. Seating
is limited. Please RSVP to the Business Office, 403-327-4223 or email bhummel@immanuelcs.ca.
We look forward to seeing you there!
GEMS Spring Rally: The Nobleford and Granum GEMS counsellors will be hosting the GEMS Spring Rally, Saturday, April 9 in the Nobleford Church. We will be asking the ladies from the congregation if they will be able to help out with different things. We will be needing lots of cookies (preferably homemade – NO Nuts!), and we will also be looking for ground beef and other food items for lunch. We are also looking for ladies to help with set up, serving lunch, and clean up afterwards. If anyone is able to help out with any of these items please talk to any GEMS counsellor.
YOU ARE INVITED! Creating
a community of care for women and families facing unplanned pregnancy is the
single most life-affirming step that the Church can offer those in crisis.
Beyond ideology about abortion, real people need real help. A local Christian crisis pregnancy centre is key to reaching those with needs. Wendy Lowe, the
Executive director of the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre, will be speaking,
presenting us with the challenge to Care for Life in Lethbridge and helping us
focus on making a centre a reality here in our community. Please
join us on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 pm at the Country Kitchen (lower level
of The Keg: 1717 Mayor Magrath Dr. S). Email preg.centre@gmail.com or speak to Alyssa Visscher
for more information (403)894-1494.

God is Always Good: Cassidy's Story. “It is a precious thing to speak in depth with fellow
believers who have undergone profound suffering. Cameron Fraser and Sonya Taekema favour us with two such intimate conversations, one
nested inside the other. Fraser shares Sonya’s diary of her daughter’s long,
arduous, and repeatedly frustrating fight with life-threatening disease. He
frames those often heart-rending entries with his own observations – observations
won the hard way, through his own personal struggle with cancer..." Bob De
Moor, Editor, The Banner. God is Always Good by
the pastor and a member of First CRC, Lethbridge, Alberta, is available from

GROUNDWORK
-
The Transfiguration: The transfiguration story almost sounds like a movie
script with lots of special effects. Jesus’ appearance changes and two Old
Testament prophets join him. The disciples are amazed—and what are we to make
of this story today? Join the March 6 Groundwork conversation on Matthew
17:1-13. Go to www.GroundworkOnline.com to find a local radio station or listen
online.
CHECK OUT THE NETWORK - The Network is a website to connect with others in the CRC about the nuts and bolts of local church ministry - from being a deacon, to teaching Sunday school, global missions, church websites, youth ministry, small groups, and more. Over the past year, The Network has grown to cover over 50 ministry roles and topics. We invite you to connect with other CRC members and churches at www.crcna.org/Network
