OUR CHURCH FAMILY
Thank you for your expressions of sympathy, through hugs, a card, making a meal, baking, (even cleaning our house!) or taking care of chores while we were gone. It is a blessing to be part of a church & community where things are taken care of when needed. Mom is doing well. She is back to substitute teaching, driving around grandkids, doing fall parts runs and coffeeing. Thanks so much for everything! Chris, Kathleen, Kayla & Kelsey
Christian condolences are extended to Mrs. Corrie Heins and her extended family on the passing of great-grandaughter, Teagan Leeuwenburgh, daughter of Dennis & Michelle.
She passed away suddenly last Saturday, just before her first birthday. The funeral was
Wednesday. Psalm 46:1 - God is our refuge and strength, an ever present help in trouble.
Birthday Wishes May God bless you as you celebrate with family and friends.

Euthanasia and Assisted Suicide. There is currently a private member's bill in the House of Commons (C-384) that proposes to legalize euthanasia and assisted suicide in Canada. This bill will go to second reading this fall. If passed, this bill would send a statement to society that people who don't measure up to certain standards because of illness or disability, are not worthy of the same protection as others. If killing is acceptable in one situation, it is very difficult to not follow-through with the same logic in many other situations. That explains why The Netherlands, which legalized assisted suicide a number of years ago, is now at the point where infants are being euthanized because of slight disabilities such a simple cleft palate. True dignity and compassion is about bravely dealing with whatever challenges life brings. Our government needs to promote a society in which the sanctity of human life is upheld by mutual care and responsibility. For more information on this issue, please go to: www.arpacanada.ca or www.euthanasiaprevention.on.ca . Please fill out the Parliamentary Response Cards in your church mailbox to tell your MP where you stand on Bill C-384 (no postage required).
Cross Road Connection: This week Dr. David Schuringa reports on California outsourcing prisoners, children stun-gunned behind bars, combating prison rape, breaking down employment barriers for ex-offenders and much more.
