ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sunday School Update. We have all our teachers in place and we are excited to begin a new season of Sunday School. We are now asking for those who might be willing to provide snack for us. You would be asked to bring snack about once every 10 weeks, depending on how many people volunteer. The snacks are very much appreciated by the students and it is an easy way for you to help out our teachers too. Please contact Melinda this week if you can help out in this way. MaNy hands make light work! We begin Sunday School with a fun time of singing and playing next Sunday, September 20 and we will begin our first lesson on September 27.

Coffee Break Update. We are still in need of a group study leader for this coming season. We have people in place to set up and to help with socials, so the job of group leader is not so overwhelming. You would simply be asked to do the lesson at home, have a leaders meeting over the phone and then guide the lesson discussion at Coffee Break each week. It is also great because it forces you to open your Bible and study it! Please give this ministry your prayerful consideration. Contact Melinda this week for more info or if you would like to help in this way.

Needed: GEMS is looking for 1-quart or larger canning jars. We are also looking for 10-pin bowling balls (the one with three holes). If anyone has either and are willing to donate them to GEMS please contact Diane or Benita. Thank you in advance.

The Nobleford GEMS Girls Club will be starting up for another season. All girls from Grades 2 - 9 are invited to our annual kickoff at the Lethbridge Corn Maze on Monday, September 21. Please meet at the corn maze after school for a time of fun and excitement. The corn maze is located about 5 km east of Nobleford on Highway 519, then follow the signs. A delicious supper of roasted wieners and treats will be provided. Please pick up your daughter(s) at about 6 pm from the corn maze. If you have any questions about GEMS or the Kickoff evening please feel free to contact, Benita @ 732-5163 or Diane @ 824-3623. Hope to see you there!!

Great Opportunity:

I want to share with you a great opportunity that is open to all people and will be happening at Emmanuel Christian Reformed Church on September 25 and 26, 2009. Emmanuel has joined forces with other churches and in particular with their deacons and is presenting a great event and conference called Lifes Journeys. Our keynote speaker for both days is humorist, Phil Callaway. We also have some great breakout sessions that will appeal to most everyone in your church. It should be an awesome experience but we need your help. We need you to encourage people to come. We need pastors to get on board. We need the elders and deacons of your church to register. We need bulletin announcements and some mention from your pulpits so that everyone is invited. As you can imagine it is difficult to plan and host such a big event but it is worth it all especially if we are able to get a good number of people from this Classis together to learn and grow in Christ. Thanks so much and hope to see you!
