Major Players in the Reformation Drama - Guillaume Farel
In 1540, King Francis I of France ordered the persecution of French Protestants which led to the massacre of a group which followed Peter Walfo, the Waldensians. Farel had been working among this group, work which eventually led to a French translation of the Bible. Following this, Farel persuaded John Calvin to continue his work in Geneva when Calvin was simply planning for a life of scholarship. Farel's intervention was providential, as Calvin devoted the rest of his life and impressive talents to molding the church in Geneva into one patterned on the Bible and writing his landmark Institutes of the Christian Religion. Farel had by then  been working in the region of the Swiss capital of Bern which with his help became a Protestant canton. With his help too, the Protestant movement in Switzerland became linked with the struggle for independence which in turn led to a lasting break with Rome

We have just enjoyed our 5TH Anniversary in our new location and 17 years in Lethbridge.  During that time we have assisted the Bible League of Canada with placing Bibles and Ministry programs in over 30 countries. The Lethbridge store is looking for a retail assistant manager for 21 hours per week to help with the duties that are required to run our Thrift store. This is a paid position. Elder Visiting: The elders attempt to visit every home once every two years.  If you have not had a visit last year, the elders will be calling you soon to set up a time for a visit.  As there are many visits to be made please cooperate with scheduling or even contact your district elder to suggest a convenient time for a visit.  May God bless us as we meet together in His name.

Movie night.  Come and enjoy a family movie night on Thursday, November 10 at 7pm.  We will be watching "Facing the Giants" and popcorn and refreshments will be provided.  There will be some Veggie Tales movies for the kids downstairs.

Seafarers Ministry - With the Christmas at Sea project, the Ministry to Seafarers hopes to show the love of God in a small, but tangible way to these sailors, pointing to the true gift of Christmas, Jesus Christ, in whose name these gifts are presented. Of course, it is only with your faithful support that this project is possible for the Christmas season. So, why not become a partner in the Ministry to Seafarers’ Christmas at Sea.  This year again, due to high postage rates, we will just be sending money.  There will be box in in the foyer until Nov 20th where you can put your donations.  Thank you

Bible Studies - Two Bible studies will be offered this fall and will be starting in the next few weeks.  The two options are:

- The Power of Love - Building Relationships that work - Focus on the Family - shows how to enrich and enjoy the bond between your child and yourself. You'll also discover that when it comes to passing along your faith and values, a good relationship with your son or daughter is the sharpest tool in every parent's toolbox.

- Go Fish - by Andy Stanley - offers a new perception of the word "evangelism" by showing how believers can make it natural, easy part of everyday life.

Please check them out and sign up in the foyer.  The times offered will be decided by the people who sign up.  Any Questions talk to Marcel Busz
