BUILDING PROJECT

-Brincon Construction has formed and poured foundations, installed weeping tile, etc -After a period of time in a controlled environment, the foundation concrete samples have not cured to the MPA rating required for a given period of time (Brincon/BCB Engineering/AMEC Earth and Environment-Lethbridge)

-Since that time we have had multiple core tests performed at different times to see if concrete strength has improved as it cured (AMEC/BCB Engineering)

-To date they have not officially approved the quality of concrete in our foundations (MPA rating not high enough yet)

-We will update results and action plans soon (good or bad)

-Westco Construction of Lethbridge is actively working on and preparing steel super structure-have begun manufacturing required steel

-When all of the completed and “engineered” plans are back to the building committee, we will display again for all to see

-Any members willing to donate time, equipment, or cover any direct costs (future supplier invoices or materials) please contact any member of the building committee.

Building committee members are: Henry K., Rob K., Tim H., Luke H., Mike F., Henk P.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Kits 4 Kids Kenya ~ Its about kids helping kids! This November, our Grades 1 - 6 children will join thousands of kids across Canada to show Christs love to children in Kenya! Kits 4 Kids is an annual program run by Kingdom Children that teaches our children about their duty to serve others within their own community and around the world. Our kids will have five weeks to earn ten toonies by completing ten acts of service for their friends, family, neighbours, and you. As a congregation, lets challenge them, encourage them, and have fun! The toonies they earn through their hard work will be used to teach at-risk children in Kenya about the Bible, agriculture, health, life, and more. The needs in Africa are great, but through Him, we can do great things! Thank-you for helping us equip these children for a lifetime of Kingdom service.

The Cadet Battery Drive is set for this coming Saturday, November 13. If you have any batteries for the Cadets, please bring them to Jack Wever's farm this week or contact Jeff Notenbomer ASAP to make other arrangements. Thank you for your continued support.

The Truth Project starts tonight after church at the church. Everyone is welcome.

GEMS: Coffeemate sure tastes great, but what to do with those jars when you're through. GEMS is looking for empty coffeemate containers for the Grade 3 Christmas craft. If you have a few, GEMS would love to hear from you. Please contact Benita, 732-5163. Thanks.

Rehoboth dues: Thank you to all who have filled my mailbox, but please spare me a lot of phone calls. Pearl is still collecting dues.

The Granum Christian Reformed Church is hosting a Canadian Food Grains Bank Harvest Supper on Saturday, November 14 @ 6:00 pm. All churches involved in or interested in growing projects or food security in developing countries, are invited to attend this informative evening. Supper cost is by donation, proceeds going to the Canadian Food grains Bank. For more information or to RSVP please call Truusje at 403 687-2172 or Joanne at 403 687-2125

However, we depend on church members like you to supply these gifts. If you find shopping for and wrapping a gift is inconvenient, you may make a cash donation instead. Your cheque, made payable to the Ministry to Seafarers, should be sent to Christmas at Sea, Ministry to Seafarers, 401 East Waterfront Road, Vancouver, BC V6A 4G9. On the memo line of the cheque, please write Christmas at Sea. Volunteers will use the funds received to purchase items and make up gifts for distribution.
