OUR CHURCH FAMILY
Birthday Wishes are extended to Mrs. Alice Vander Woude who celebrates her birthday on Friday, December 4, 2009. May God bless you as you celebrate with family & friends.
Congratulations to Grandparents, Nick & Wendy S, and Great Grandparents, Albert & Alice S on the birth of Ashlynn Aileen, born to Kevin & Nelina Slomp. Ashlynn was born last Sunday evening. “I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
Congratulations also to Great Oma Heins, and Grandparents, Andy & Fanny F, on the birth of a healthy son, Jacob Andy, born to Don & Arlene Feenstra. Jacob was born this past Tuesday. “Children are a blessing from the Lord.”
Samantha P has been undergoing tests to determine the cause of her severe chronic pain & inflammation which has flared up since mid July. Although she has many of the symptoms of Systemic Lupus, her blood test came back negative. At this point she has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. In addition, Osteoarthritis & a misaligned knee cap has caused permanent knee deterioration and limited walking. She is undergoing physiotherapy until a scheduled Orthopaedic surgeon appointment in December. The source of continued inflammation and swelling in her upper shoulders, elbows, muscles & hands are undetermined at this time as they do not fit into the current diagnoses. She is undergoing further testing.
We would like to thank the Congregation for their thoughts, prayers, cards, meals and concern shown after Wendy broke her arm. There is still much healing to be done before she can use it again. Thanks again, Nick & Wendy S
CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR...
Alice P. will have hip replacement surgery on December 2. Pray for the doctors and
the work that they'll do. Pray for successful surgery and recovery. Dan H. and
Wendy S. continue to heal slowly. The radiation treatments for Sara S. should be
completed this week. Pray for God's blessing on the remaining few that they will
yield good results in the long term. Corinne F. had her appendix removed this past
Monday, and she is doing much better. Pray for Dan K. and his family. Pray for
God's rich grace to be evident in their lives, and that they may feel the support of God's
fatherly hand.
Also remember those who suffer from chronic disease, pain and depression that
may not be as visible. Please keep in prayer all those who are mourning because
a loved one has died.
Jennie E at Blue Sky Lodge, Mary N, at the Good Samaritan Center, Corrie H at Columbia Assisted Living, Tina K, in St. Michael’s Health Care Center, our
widows, widowers, seniors and expectant mothers.
GRADE EIGHT CATECHISM CLASS: Formal classes for this group will restart December 6, 2009 due to the absence of the instructor. However the kids have homework. They were given a test to complete before the start of the next class. They are encouraged to meet at the regular time after church and work together on completing this open book test. Each student must have the test completed and ready to hand in on December 6 or they will be scheduled to have a private class with the instructor. L. Kooy P.S.—Tom Slomp (youth elder) will be checking their progress and their noise level.
“UNITY IN THE BODY OF CHRIST” has been chosen as a theme for this year’s home visitations. Each visit will start with the reading of Ephesians 4:1-16 and the elders encourage all members of the church to read this passage whether you are scheduled to have a visit or not. Visitation lists have been finalized and visits will be starting in the coming weeks.

Thank you Wilma Lubberts for the Evangelism Committee.

KITS 4 KIDS KENYA ~ IT’S ABOUT KIDS HELPING KIDS! This November, our Grades 1 - 6 children will join thousands of kids across Canada to show Christ’s love to children in Kenya! Kits 4 Kids is an annual program run by Kingdom Children that teaches our children about their duty to serve others within their own community and around the world. Our kids will have five weeks to earn ten toonies by completing ten acts of service for their friends, family, neighbours, and you. As a congregation, let’s challenge them, encourage them, and have fun! The toonies they earn through their hard work will be used to teach at-risk children in Kenya about the Bible, agriculture, health, life, and more. The needs in Africa are great, but through Him, we can do great things! Thank-you for helping us equip these children for a lifetime of Kingdom service.

ATTENTION ALL GRADE ELEVEN STUDENTS! Next Spring, the week of April 2-9, we are planning our yearly Service Trip. This is an every-year event for Grade eleven students that's been running a number of years now. In the past few years, we've gone to Louisiana and Galveston, Texas to help CRWRC with disaster relief. We're in conversation with them already now to see where they need us this year. So, if you'd like to be able to go on this trip, please work on getting your passports in order. More specific information will be coming in January. As well, we will be looking for Chauffeurs for the group. Construction experience is generally a plus. So please talk to one or two adults in your church to encourage their participation. Cost has not been worked out, but it will likely run somewhere around $1000 per person. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Mike Van Boom at mvanboom@hotmail.com.
