Archives---If any
group or committee has historical items (minutes, record books, pictures, etc)
to be stored in the Archive room, and, if anyone has old bulletins, church
newsletters, directories, etc. to donate to the church's collection, please
contact Lammie.
The LIBRARY is OPEN!!
Thank you to each one of you who worked in the new library. It looks so good,
and the books are now listed. Thank you for every donation of books and other
materials, so we all "share in the wealth" of literature. For now,
we will continue on the honor system. It has worked well, though we are missing
a few items,
such as the DVD, ""The Sin Eater", and a few Dee Henderson and
Karen Kingsbury books. Please return books or DVDs on the bottom shelf of the
photocopier cart. Thanks! Read a great book or watch a
good movie. ENJOY!!!
Check It Out! In the new basement, across from the nursery, the 100th Anniversary Time Line has been put up. Take some time to look at the history of our Church.
SERVE TRIP: We, the Young Peoples, are planning a Serve trip for this coming April to Biloxi, Mississippi. In past years the kids have had 'Prayer Partners' from the congregation. We would love for that to happen again this time. What it consists of is this: You sign your name beside one of the young people, and you become their 'Prayer Partner' for the week that they are away. In the past, the partners have sent a little package along with the kids, with a prayer, scripture or note of encouragement for each day that they are gone. You can also include small treats, but make sure they are "Border Crossing" appropriate. We ask that you label each day, with the child's name and the day.(in envelope). We ask that the total package be no bigger than a large Ziploc bag, since we have 25 kids going with 6 chaperones, and it creates a little extra luggage. The sign up sheet will be in the foyer, and we ask that you prayerfully consider this wonderful way of connecting with our youth, even across the miles. We will also include the chaperones, but we ask that you take all the kids first, so that they will all have your prayers, but us as leaders, would greatly welcome your prayers too. We ask that these packages be done and handed in, to Sonya Wever, by April 17. Thank you so much in advance for your support and prayers for our youth.

LETHBRIDGE CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTRE - A meeting was held in Lethbridge to seek assistance in setting up a Crisis Centre. We are thankful for the over 150 persons who attended and for the enthusiasm shown for this project. In order for things to move forward we need to establish a steering committee and raise sufficient funds to meet a substantial part of the first year’s budget. Prayer, volunteer time, and financial assistance are critical factors to our success. Your prayers are appreciated as we move forward. Volunteers can contact Alyssa Visscher at 403.894.1494, or email preg.centre@gmail.com for further information. Arrangements for financial contributions have been made with the Calgary Pregnancy Care Centre who have kindly offered their help by earmarking funds received for the Lethbridge Centre and issuing charitable donation receipts. Please consider this ministry prayerfully, as there is a demonstrated and urgent need here in our city.
