There will be sign up sheets at the back of church for help with set up, clean up, serving food, washing dishes etc. We are asking each family to bring a salad or vegetable to generously feed 12-15 adults. Please indicate the time you are able to bring your dishes on the sign up sheet in the back. We are keeping the time honoured tradition of asking Grandmothers to bring 2 homemade pies. Please don’t forget your donation for the auction. Men are encouraged to sign up to help as well!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
This morning we welcome the Rev. Andrew Joosse to our pulpit and thank him for his
leadership in our morning service. Pastor Kevin is preaching in Burdett, fulfilling a
classical appointment.
Grades 1-6 Sunday school parents – a few reminders…
1. We will continue to collect for the food bank this month.
2. Each child brought home information for the World Missions poster contest. If you have any questions, please let us know. The entries are due to Lynda by April 11.
3. Sunday school is one of the avenues the Lord, through His church, has provided for the spiritual training of our children. We humbly request that you consider a couple of issues. First, please do not throw away your children’s Sunday school material as soon as you get home. Look at it with them, talk about it, and save it for a time, so that your children know that this part of their spiritual education is important. Throwing the papers away immediately fosters an attitude of disregard, even disrespect. Second, please respect the time and effort the teachers put into the preparation and teaching of the classes. Your attitudes are readily absorbed by your children. Encourage the teachers, and encourage your children to participate appropriately. In this way, we can all grow together as members of Christ’s body.
4. Each child came home today with a checklist for participating in services. Please go over this with your child and encourage them to participate. Please sign these and return them to Melinda or Lynda. Thanks!
Immanuel Christian Elementary School Spring Program “In All Things” will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at Trinity Reformed Church (1100 – 40 Ave. N.). We look forward to seeing you there.
The Board of Immanuel Christian Schools is deeply grateful for your generous support of our two schools at the recent Participation Drive Dinner. We thank you on behalf of the many children that will benefit from your gifts. Thank you to Creative Cooks for the wonderful meal. We request that you prayerfully consider making a donation if you have not already done so. May the Lord’s blessings be multiplied to you as we continue to serve Him together. Corny VanDasselaar, Board President

Putting Love in Action: Every year many Dordt students use their spring break to further the Kingdom of God by serving in various areas of North America. Every service group is made of about ten students. At the site, groups give their energy and services to the ministry centers. Common jobs that groups carry out include: general maintenance, such as cleaning and repairs, assisting building homes, groundwork, homeless missions, and tutoring children.
Both students and ministries benefit from the opportunities PLIA provides. In addition to general help that is needed by the ministries, those involved see young, committed Christians living out their faith. Students benefit by experiencing new cultures and ways of life, gaining fresh knowledge about social problems, acquiring new skills and knowledge, and having an opportunity to put their faith into action. PLIA is an imitation of Christ that challenges students to seek daily means to serve those they interact with. Thank you for your support!
Elizabeth Hummel will be participating in this service project in March 2010. (During Spring Break). In order for this to happen she is requesting financial support from our congregation. Next weeks offering will go to PLIA to help Elizabeth financially with this project.
