CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR ...

Continue to pray for Harry Korver's Achilles tendon to heal completely.

Update:
Dave Heins broke the outside bone in his foot playing soccer. (My apologies, Dave. Pastor Kevin). He'll be on crutches for two weeks, and then with the walking cast for another four weeks. Let's pray for healing but also patience during this season of summer.

Sara Slomp will have a treatment at the end of this week. This will be her second treatment out of a total of six. Remember Sara this week in your prayers.

Please continue to pray for healing for Dan Konynenbelt. Pray for Melody, the kids, and the extended family as well.

Also remember those who suffer from chronic disease, pain and depression that may not be as visible.

Please keep in prayer all those who are mourning because a loved one has died.

BUILDING PROJECT

Building Project Update: The building project has begun. The Building Committee (Henry K, Rob K, Luke H, Tim H, Mike F, and Henk P) reports the following:

· Site Preparation, tree/shrub removal should be completed soon

· Our present natural gas service needs to be relocated and meter updated and moved outside. Atco Gas is taking care of meter; Nobleford CRC to take care of trenching

· We have an architectural contract with Templar Architectural out of Calgary who is reviewing and approving plans as submitted

· Electrical/HVAC/mechanical engineering almost completed

· Once foundation load plan is returned and approved, excavation can begin

· Dick VanHarbeden working with Templar Architectural, West-Co draftsman, building committee as necessary

The Building Finance Committee (Andrew K, Jerry dB, Lucy K) report that the building fund (cash and 2009 pledges) has approximately 50% of the estimated cost of the project with an additional $304,100 in pledges for the years 2010-2013. We are working with the Christian Credit Union-Lethbridge to obtain a mortgage for the remaining funds required to complete the project. As the project is now underway, we ask that all 2009 pledges be paid before September 30, 2009. Thank-you.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Canada Day Church Picnic: Once again, the church members would like to thank the phenomenal YPS and their fearless leaders for all the wonderful festivities that we could partake of at our annual Church Picnic, held on July 1st. After a delectable meal, we were entertained by our younger members who competed in different races and games. Many boisterous laughs were heard and some parents got wetter than others. Then the wonderful weather held, so members headed out to the beach for the spectacular sand castle building contest. Many different creations could be admired and were judged. The delectable barbeque was enjoyed as people partook of the evening meal.

Thanks to everyone who participated to make it a great day.

CAUTION: Now that the asphalt is gone on the north side of the church, please be careful where you park and walk. Please do not park on the main street in front of the church, so Nobleford’s Emergency vehicles can pass through safely. You may park on the street running east/west on the north side of the church grounds, on the south side of the church and behind the trees on the west side. Thank you

You are Invited: All Grade 12's, Young Adults, the pastor and spouse, youth elders and their spouses are invited to Bas & Dirk van der Kooij's for a year-end BBQ and soccer evening on Sunday, July 5 after the evening service. Bring a lawn chair and come enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship. Hope to see you there!!

Attention: The small photocopier has been moved back to where it originally was in the church. If you have many copies to be made, make arrangements with Susy to use the large photocopier which has been moved into the council room. Thanks

SUNDAY SCHOOL: Although everyone is enjoying the summer holidays, the Sunday School coordinators are needing you to consider teaching after church Sunday School in the Fall. We are in need of 5 more teachers. During the next few weeks, please prayerfully think about volunteering your time and energy. If you need more info, or are interested, please talk to Lynda J or Melinda N. Thank you

Cadet & Family Go-Cart Night: All cadets and their families are invited to a Go-Cart Night on Wednesday, July 29, 5:30-8:30 P.M. at Damon Postman’s farm. Hotdogs, juice, plates, cups and cutlery will be provided. Bring a salad or a suitable item to share. Take along extra chairs, and helmets as well.

The Picture Butte Mennonite Church invites us to a gospel music jamboree. The dates will be July 10-12. This also coincides with the dedication of their new church building. Look for more details on the flyer posted on the bulletin board.

GEMS: Although GEMS is finished for another season thoughts and ideas are being formed for the upcoming 2009-2010 GEMS year. Therefore, GEMS is in need of 1 counselor and a music leader in the fall. If you feel God is leading you in this direction or would like more information please contact Benita asap. GEMS is an exciting opportunity where women of our congregation have the privilege to mentor and lead young girls and women to a living-dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.

The Christian Labour Association of Canada would like to invite you to an Open House on Saturday July 11, 2009 at the Calgary Office 2333 18th Unit 232 Avenue NE from 11 am to 2 pm. Take a break from the Calgary Stampede and enjoy a complementary barbecue. We will be serving hot dogs, hamburgers and refreshments. CLAC would like to take this opportunity to update you on our trade local work, training programs and international social justice programs in Cuba, Columbia, Guatemala and China. Come interact with our staff and become better acquainted with the work of CLAC.

PRAYER REQUEST: Arabic-speaking families hear a special radio program produced by Back to God Ministries International every Thursday evening. The family program airs on the Middle Easts most popular radio station immediately following the news. Praise God that many listeners have tuned in to this program by accidentand others (including Muslim converts) have become faithful followers, not just of the radio programbut of Jesus Christ!

THE CHURCH WITHOUT COMPROMISE: The pressures in our lives often require us to make decisions. Bad economies make difficult decisions about where to spend money necessary. Even ensuring survival after natural disasters brings difficult decisions. But do these decisions ever force you to make compromises? What does the Bible say about faith and compromise? Find out on the July12 Back to God Hour. Visit BacktoGodradio.net to find a station in your area or listen to a sermon. You can also download our podcast. No station in your area? Cant listen on line? Call or email to request a CD to be sent to you.

THE STOWAWAY (PART 1): Scooter desperately wants to go along on the camping trip with all his friends, but his teacher says hes too young to go. What if Scooter sneaks his way onto the bus? Nothing can go wrong, can it? Find out on this weeks Kids Corner. Then check out the Kids Corner website at www.kids-corner.org for stories, devotions, puzzles and more.

The Bible Leauge: In recent weeks there have been many reports of violence against Karen refugees on the border of Burma and Thailand. There was much fear that these refugees, most of them women and children living in camps in Thailand, would be repatriated to Burma. Praise God that the United Nations stepped in and granted these beleaguered Christians official refugee status so they cannot be forced back to Burma and certain death. Thank you for joining The Bible League of Canada in prayer for the Karen Christians. For additional information, please go to www.bibleleague.ca or call 1-800-363-9673.

Devotional:

TODAY'S VERSE "I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 13:15 (NLT)

TODAY'S THOUGHT What a glorious hope we can have in Christ. Paul prays for the church in Rome and we can claim this same prayer for ourselves. He prays that God will fill us with joy and peace. But not just fill us, He desires to completely fill us. And not just because of hope but because we are dealing with the source of all hope! And how can God do this? He does it as we trust in Him. The result is a confident hope, powered by the Holy Spirit. Today, let us put our hope in Him, the source of all hope.

TODAY'S PRAYER Father, help me trust in You as the source of all my hope. Help my hope turn into joy and peace so I can overflow with a confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. AMEN
