OUR CHURCH FAMILY
Bridal Shower:
Ladies, you are invited to a
Bridal Shower for Crystal S, daughter of Nick & Wendy S, 7:30 P.M.,
Tuesday, Aug 9 who will marry Kas Mckenzie
on September 3. The shower will be in
the Church Fellowship Hall. Everyone is
welcome.
Brian K. reports that the
staples have been removed. He continues to learn new skills and to
proceed nicely with therapy.
Arlyn J. has moved to another care
center where he continues physical therapy.
Harold v.d.B. will receive chemotherapy once a
week for three weeks. He'll have a break for a week. Then he'll
receive more chemotherapy once a week for three more weeks.
Please keep Judy v.H., Stan and Hendrika N.,
Kas, Henny
v.F., and Henry and Alice P. in your
prayers.
Kas
has recovered quite well. His foot has healed well and doctors are
pleased. He drives, mows the lawn, and helps out around the house.
Hopefully, he'll get some prosthetic toes in the near future.
Pray for Dan K for God to bring healing either through a miracle or the
work of doctors.
Continue to
remember those young and old with ongoing physical, spiritual, and emotional
struggles. Please keep in prayer all those who are
mourning because a loved one has died. Please pray for our widows, widowers and
seniors Jennie E at Blue Sky Lodge, & Corrie H at Columbia Assisted Living, and our expectant
mothers.

ICHS Senior Choir Cookbook
Big thanks to everyone who has sent in
recipes - it's starting to take shape! The plan is to have the completed
cookbooks available before Christmas.
We don't have quite enough to
pull together a full book yet, so please keep sending them through the summer
months. Please email them to Monica at mmoedt@immanuelcs.ca, or give her a call at (403) 345-4174.
Thanks so much for your support - it's going to be a
great cookbook!
Sunday
School: If there is anybody (or more than one person) who
would be willing to fill this position of Sunday School Superintendant
please talk to Tom S.
The
14th Annual Bits & Bytes Classic - The best-ball golf
tourney of Immanuel Christian Schools will be held on Saturday, September 10,
2011 at Land-O-Lakes. We are counting on
some fantastic weather! There is an
early bird draw again this year, so register before August 10 to have your name
entered for a great prize. To register
you can contact Sean Alaric at salaric@immanuelcs.ca Phone 403-381-9328 or text
or call his cell 403-593-9328 with your name and average score.
Vacation Bible School:
--VBS is in need of Frisbees. We need about
20. If you could please label them, and
we will return them to you after VBS.
Thanks!
--Thank you for
all the supplies that have been donated so far, they are very much appreciated.
--Thank you to all who have volunteered to help, and have helped already, to
make VBS work this year.
--This year, we want as many pre-registered children as possible. The
registration forms are on the VBS table in the foyer next to the library.
Please fill out any forms and place them in Vanessa's mailbox as soon as possible.
You may also pre-register by emailing Vanessa at vbs@noblefordcrc.com.
Attention all youth, children &
their parents: In the next 3 weeks, the large
basement room (with the concrete flooring) is going to be used to
gather and assemble the decorating props for VBS. We are asking if you could
please refrain from entering that room after church.
In addition, in the next week or so, the teachers are going to start decorating
their rooms, which are located in the rest of the
basement (including the Sunday school room, the old nursery, & the main
area).
We are asking if all the decorations & props could be handled with care and
respect and, if at all possible, remain undisturbed. Thank you.
The Bible
League: Cambodia
has survived decades of civil war, killing fields and political upheaval.
Twenty years ago there were only 50 churches in Cambodia. Today there are over
1000 in just the National Cambodian Church Network. Also in this Network, there
are another 1000 cell groups that are on their way to becoming churches! There
are 900 men and women waiting to be trained as church planters. The Spirit of
God is moving across Cambodia. Praise the Lord! www.bibleleague.ca
GROUNDWORK - One in Christ: Most everyone desires to belong and be accepted
unconditionally by others. And yet we continue to divide ourselves into groups
based on money, education, ethnic backgrounds, etc. How do the law AND the
gospel address our divisive society? Join the Groundwork July 17 conversation

Missions in Kenya: - Volunteer teachers with
elementary/secondary qualifications in Math, Chemistry, Physics and/or Biology
are needed in Kenya. Help a local school offer strong academic programs with a
Christian foundation that benefit students, their families, and the larger
Kenyan society. Visit www.crwm.org/serve for more details.
Did You Know... - Did you know that through the June 2008 Statement of Apology to
former students of Indian Residential Schools and the formation of the Truth
and Reconciliation Commission, Canada is taking steps to rebuild relationships
with Aboriginal peoples? The Christian Reformed Church is also involved in
building relationships with Aboriginal people through ministry centers in Winnipeg,
Regina and Edmonton. Pray for those who work in these ministries and for those
who come for worship and programs.
CRWRC - You
Harvested Hope: CRWRC would like to thank all individuals and
churches who contributed to our Harvest Hope campaign. Following a denial of
funding from CIDA last December, CRWRC asked you to help us raise $825,000 by
June 30 to sustain vital programs. As of July 4, CRWRC has received $829,109!
Thank you. However, the challenge is not over. We've submitted a number of new proposals
to CIDA for this next year and are awaiting word on what we will receive. Each
proposal will also require that we raise 25% to match CIDA's 75% contribution.
Please pray that CRWRC will receive what it needs to continue its work.
