OUR CHURCH FAMILY

 

Sincere Christian condolences are extended to Andy and Fanny, Rob and Charlene, Gordon and Karen, and all the grand-children in the death of Andy's mom Mrs. Antje Feenstra this past Wednesday. The visitation will be at Martin Brothers on Wednesday, December 30 from 7-8 p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, December 31 at 2 p.m. at Trinity.

 

 Birthday wishes are extended to Mr. Herman B who celebrates his birthday, tomorrow, December 28. May you have a blessed birthday as you celebrate with family & friends.

 

 

 

 

CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR...

 

Last week, Henny V.F. fell. She has no broken bones. But she has a crack in her pelvis and suffers from a lot of pain. Pray for comfort and healing from God's hand.

 

Continue to pray for Alice P. and Dan H. and the recovery that lies before them.

 

Bill Miedema, Jenny A’s brother, has learned that his cancer has returned; he waits for news of a surgery date.

 

Pray for Dan K., Melody, and the children. Pray for continued grace and mercies.


Also remember those who suffer from chronic disease, pain and depression that may not be as visible.

 

Please keep in prayer all those who are mourning because a loved one has died.

BUILDING PROJECT             Building Committee Progress Report 

·    Dick VH is prepared to pour basement floor (weather permitting- will probably plastic in basement and heat once 1st steel level is installed). The bldg comm. has given Dick approval to install in-floor heat in the nursery, entrance, and council room area’s only for individual climate control.

·    Arrangements are in place for Fortis Alberta to bring necessary electrical services to site. The new service will provide power to our entire facility including the old part.

·    Westco Construction is preparing steel super structure for roofline and supports- will deliver to site when ready.

·    Dick VH is actively erecting steel and has hired required labour & equipment to do so.

·    All steel for 1st level is installed. Dick VH and crew are busy installing floor trusses and plywood.

·    Westco Construction has provided us an onsite dumpster at a very reasonable price.

·     “Engineered” plans have been posted in the rear foyer for your review.... Any suggestions, thoughts, questions – please see a committee member.

·    We have had a good response for sub-committee volunteers. We had a good tour of the NRC church in Broxburn. Q & A session, etc.

·    Sub-committee members:

-     Henry K has a copy of our engineered plans for each committee (1 per comm.)

-     You have been given your committee responsibilities – please be as pro-active as possible as time passes quickly. Dick VH will be needing committee feedback as soon as we have it..... Thx Again to the many volunteers willing to help.

FROM THE DEACONS: The 2010 collection notes are now available. Please use the envelopes that are on top of the mail boxes when purchasing notes. If there is anyone who is unfamiliar with collection notes, like how they work or how to acquire them, please see the deacons in the council room immediately after any church service. If you purchase notes in December, please note if they are for 2009 of 2010. If at all possible, purchase notes as follows (especially for the beginning of the year).

$1 notes x 50= $50

$2 notes x 50= $100

$5 notes x 25= $125

CADET HOCKEY GAME Wednesday, Dec 30 is our West Winds Father /Son Hurricanes Hockey Night. We are having pizza in the party room at the Movie Mill. Everyone is invited for pizza, even if you didn't order a meal voucher. Cadets will cover the costs. We have the room from booked from 5:00 - 6:30. If you need a ride call Jeff @ 403-553-3448.

 

 GEMS & CADET BOTTLE DRIVE: Please save your bottles, cans and milk jugs for the GEMS and Cadets. Our annual Bottle Drive is planned for THIS Saturday, January 2, 2010. Lunch will be provided. We should be finished shortly after lunch so please pick up your children around 1 pm from the church.

 

 

ATTENTION OLIBOLEN MAKERS: The Worship Advisory Committee is once again asking you to please make some extra olieboelen to share and enjoy after the New Year's Day service. Please bring them to the kitchen on New Year's morning. Thank you.

 

FOOD BANK UPDATE: This week, the food bank is in need of PASTA. There will be a box at the back of church for you to put your food donation in.

 

LETHBRIDGE CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S CHOIR: We are looking forward to starting our second semester once again at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1818 – 5th Ave. S. on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:00 PM starting on Monday, January 11, 2010. As we start practicing for our spring concert, we are hoping to have many new women, both young and old, join us to we sing praises to our God. See you there!

 

THE LETHBRIDGE CHRISTIAN MEN’S CHOIR will resume its practices on January 6, 2010 in the music room at Wilson Middle School, 2003 – 9 Ave, N., Lethbridge @ 7:30PM. We will be preparing ourselves for a mass choir concert to be held in April, 2010. New members are welcome, so come join us on Wednesday evenings to sing praises to our God and Savior.
