Help a local school offer strong academic programs with a Christian foundation that benefit students, their families, and the larger Kenyan society. Visit www.crwm.org/serve for more details.

GROUNDWORK - The Holy, Sinful, Church: All humans are sinful—Christians as well as non-Christians. And yet the church is holy. How does that seeming contradiction work for individuals or for a local community of faith? The Aug. 14 Groundwork conversation, based on Acts 2:42 and passages from 1 Peter, answers those questions. Find a local radio station or listen online at www.GroundworkOnline.com.

KIDS CORNER - Failsafe: Liz feels like a total failure because everything is going wrong. But Lucille has the perfect solution to failure. Find out what it is on this week’s Kids Corner. Then write to Kids Corner at P.O. Box 5070, Burlington ON L7R3Y8 or go to kids@kidscorner.net for your very own Bible study.

CRWRC East Africa Drought Response: - The worst drought in 60 years is threatening 12.4 million people – an increase of 800,000 people in Kenya in the last week. CRWRC is supporting 100,000 Kenyans until December with $7 million in food aid, drinking water, and animal fodder, and has expanded into Ethiopia and Somalia. The Canadian government will match (1:1) private donations received by Sept. 16, and CRWRC is eligible to apply to this new CIDA fund. Through CFGB, CRWRC is guaranteed a 4:1 CIDA match towards the food aid portion. To donate, call 1-800-730-3490, visit www.crwrc.org/donate, or mail your cheque marked, "CRWRC East Africa Drought Response," to CRWRC, 3475 Mainway, STN LCD 1, Burlington, ON L7R 3Y8. Please pray for the millions who are facing starvation and have lost all hope.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR JAPAN! - Christian Reformed World Missions and CRWRC are looking for people interested in serving the people of Japan in the long process of cleaning up their homes and communities after the earthquake and tsunami of March 11th. Four teams of 4 - 7 people are being recruited for Sept. 3 – 16; Sept. 16 – 30; Sept. 30 – Oct. 14 and Oct. 14 – 28. FROM THE BIBLE LEAGUE – India: Families are a vital part of a child’s faith life. From a Children’s Bible Club Leader in India: “Lord Jesus, we are so happy to know that Mythri—and her whole family—have accepted you as Saviour through the Children’s Bible Club. We praise you for transforming their lives! We pray that Mythri and her family will be a strong witness for you in their community.” At the same Club, “Kavi has been warned by his father to stop attending. God, we pray that you will change the heart of Kavi’s father and provide Kavi a way to keep learning more about Jesus.”

Three students from an Adult Literacy Classin southeast India have stopped worshipping Hindu idols, and they are eager to keep learning about the Gospel. We pray that the Holy Spirit will open the hearts of these three women as they hear the truth about Jesus at their classes. Please pray for the children of India!

When Chana, an Adult Literacy student in India, gave her life to Christ, she eagerly went home and told her family. Today, Chana’s husband and two children have also found salvation in Jesus Christ! Praise the Lord!

Tufan, from India, has been attending a church plant in his area. He wants to accept Jesus into his life but he knows that his family will reject him if he does. Please pray that God will give him the strength and courage he needs. Pray that Tufan’s family will experience the Holy Spirit’s power, so they turn to Jesus as well.

An Adult Literacy student in India named Lila was thrown out of her house by her family when she accepted Christ as her Saviour. Now, Lila has taken refuge with a family of Christian believers. Lord, we place this situation in your hands. We pray that you will keep Lila strong in her faith and that you will soften the hearts of Lila’s family.  www.bibleleague.ca
