Everyone is welcome to our 6:00 P.M. service. Tonight, Pastor Kevin will preach a sermon from Leviticus 19 on loving your neighbor.

We are honoured guests this morning at the Lord’s table. The Lord will strengthen our faith with the use of the Sacrament. On this Communion Sunday, we invite our guests to listen carefully as the Form for the Celebration of the Lord’s Supper is read, which explains our understanding of the meaning and significance of the Sacrament. We believe that those who partake of the sacrament should be in good standing of a Christian Church, should profess Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of their lives, should desire the Sacrament as a means of strengthening their faith, and should do so in accordance with the teaching of 1 Corinthians 11: 23 - 29.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Nobleford Coffee Break Ministry. The fall season is quickly approaching and we are in need of help for Coffee Break this year. We need 1 Bible Study leader, 1-4 people who would be willing to set up the basement on Wednesday nights/Thursday mornings and 1-2 people to help co-ordinate the 3-4 socials we have each season, and of course nursery helpers. Without this help, we will not be able to run this important ministry. We ask that you prayerfully consider how you can be used by God in this ministry. It is a short season of ministry, as we only run from Thanksgiving to Easter. If you would like to help or need more info, please contact Melinda Notenbomer ASAP or before September 13. Thank you

Dear congregation, it is that time of year again to make up a new schedule for the nursery. If you would like your name added or taken off the list please let Lorinda (381-1329) know this week. All gr.12 grads will be taken off and all new Gr.7 students will be added unless you let me know otherwise. Thank you to everyone who helps take care of our little ones!

THANK YOU! A belated thank you to the Hip Hoppin’ Loopy Lynda who helped the kids learn all their songs for VBS. My apologies for not including this last week...sk

During Church Sunday School : I am making a new schedule for the During Church Sunday School ( ages 2-5) to begin in the Fall. Those children going into grade 5 will be added as helpers. If you would like your name to be taken off the list or if you are willing to help out once or twice a year to give our parents a break, please let Paula Konynenbelt know ASAP. (394-1197) Thank you to those ladies who helped this past year.

Luncheon: We have been invited to a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon at the Edith Cavell Care Center on Wednesday Sept. 9th at l1:30 am. Please contact Wilma Lubberts if you wish to attend as a representative of our congregation.

Sunday School Update. We are excitedly looking forward to another season of Sunday School and ask that you prayerfully consider joining us in this fun and rewarding ministry. We still need teachers for Grades 4 and 6. We plan to begin on September 20 with a time of fun and singing and our first lesson will be on September 27. If you are at all interested or have any questions, please contact Lynda or Melinda. We would like to have all our teachers in place by August 30.

GEMS: Although GEMS is finished for another season thoughts and ideas are being formed for the upcoming 2009-2010 GEMS year. Therefore, GEMS is in need of 1 counselor and a music leader in the fall. If you feel God is leading you in this direction or would like more information please contact Benita asap. GEMS is an exciting opportunity where women of our congregation have the privilege to mentor and lead young girls and women to a living-dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.

DID YOU KNOW??? – that euthanasia and assisted suicide could become legal in Canada??? MP Francine Lalonde has introduced Bill C-384, which would legalize assisted suicide, not only for those who are terminally ill, but also for those who are experiencing physical and mental pain. The bill will go to second reading this fall. If it passes second reading it will go to the Justice Committee for review and then will be returned to the House of Commons for final debate and vote. We hope it will not get that far! We need to let our MPs know that euthanasia and assisted suicide are not acceptable to Canadians! For more information on this bill and for details on how to write your MP and the Prime Minister regarding this issue visit www.euthanasiaprevention.on.ca. If you do not have access to the internet call Lethbridge & District Pro-Life at 403.320.5433 and we can send you some more information.

LEAVING HOME FOR UNIVERSITY? If you or someone you know is attending a public university this fall, the Christian Reformed Campus Ministry would like to know! Send us your name, address, and which university will be attended, and we will forward this information to the CRC campus ministry at that university. Or, contact them directly yourself! See our directory of ministries at www.crcma.com. Lets keep the covenant alive! Our campus ministries nurture discipleship that includes mentoring, fellowship, social justice work and spiritual growth. For details or to send contact info, please email Rev. Brian Bork at waterloocampusministry@gmail.com.

CRC Church Website Blog - Looking for a Volunteer

We're looking for a volunteer blogger who will give advice to Christian Reformed churches on using web-based technologies for internal and external communication. The ideal person is more writer than coder, more Wordpress than Dreamweaver, more Mashable than PC World, more on-demand than host-it-yourself, more Gmail than Juno, more Docs than .doc's. Plus they like their media as social as possible.

Most of all, we want someone who is excited about tapping into the wealth of knowledge that already exists across the Christian Reformed Church. Someone who can help create a conversation among staff and volunteers in local churches who are passionate about using technology for their church's ministry.

Can you or someone you know help? If so, please tell us a bit more about yourself by filling out this short form: http://bit.ly/ujyDR
