CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR...

Pray for the Damon and Samantha P. family. Pray for God's strength to deal with the pain and grace to deal with the up's and down's of daily life.
Henny v.F. improves very slowly. Her attitude remains positive. Pray for healing.
Everet S. waits for his eyes to be aligned properly. Pray for patience and for God to do his work.
Brian K. gets stronger and better. As of Thursday, he was hoping to be discharged before the weekend.
Scott H. began physical therapy this week, and he reports that it's going well.
Jaylene V. H.'s mom, Judy, has brain cancer for which she receives chemotherapy. The doctors would like to do a scan of the region, but the date has not yet been determined. Judy's outlook remains positive for which we give thanks.
Tina K. at St. Mike's, has suffered a series of mini-strokes. She has difficulty swallowing, but she can swallow when told to do so..
.Susan H. has undergone two chemotherapy treatments with one more to go.
Pray for Dan K., Melody, and the children. Pray for continued grace and mercies.

 

Pray for the people of Haiti, for all those who have lost family members and homes.

 

Also remember those who suffer from chronic disease, pain and depression that may not be as visible.

 

Please keep in prayer all those who are mourning because a loved one has died.

FOOD BANK UPDATE: This week, the food bank is in need of Diabetic goods. In particular one of the following: pancake syrup, canned fruit or jam. These goods must have ‘no sugar added’ on the front label. There will be will be a box at the back of church for you to put your food donation in.

 

 

Building Committee Progress Report

* Dick VH and crew have completed pouring and finishing the basement floor concrete.

* Wood framing in basement almost complete. Downward ramp to basement is framed and concrete on its surface is in place. Ramp upward will be next.

* The Main entrance up & down stairs are installed and treads finished with concrete.

* Upstairs framing is almost complete except for kitchen, library, and ceiling areas.

* All required steel is in place and the bldg comm. needs to meet with Theo Vanee of West-Co const. to review and finalize things with them.

* All exterior windows and doors have been researched, priced, and ordered.

* The steeple is being manufactured by Aztec Portable Welding of Coaldale at a very reasonable cost.

* The kitchen comm. has researched the design of the kitchen and downstairs kitchenette and acquired multiple quotes. The project was awarded to CouleeView Cabinetry(Fred VanHell)of Diamond City. They are still working on kitchen appliances, supplies, & fellowship hall tables/chairs.

* The landscape comm.. is working on an overall outside plan. They have visited with the Village of Nobleford and made them aware of our plans for the future.

* The nursery comm. plan for the nursery/toddler/bathroom is complete and framing is also complete.

* The library/archive comm. have arranged for a new SAFE to be installed in the council storage room which has been donated. They have also arranged for CouleeView Cabinetry to build additional library bookshelves to match our present library shelves.

* The decorating comm. has outside stucco, roofing, soffit, fascia choices complete. Also inside carpet, lino, paint colors, textures, hardware choices & suppliers complete. They are still working on sanctuary west wall ideas, plumbing fixtures, etc.

* The sound comm. has presented us with 1 plan and cost estimate so far(SoundWest of Calgary). They are working on more possible options.

* Thanks so far for all the sub-committee work done. Please continue working on any incomplete responsibilities as we want to avoid any delays with the overall project.

* The bldg comm. continues working with Dick VH on: ongoing construction questions & mtgs/ metal roofing/ drywall quotes, installers & suppliers/ foam insulation quotes & suppliers/ electrical plans/ inside ceiling plans, heights, etc.

* We are very happy with the completed work so far.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

Thank You! A big thank you to everyone who helped in any way to make our Annual Church Bazaar a huge success. Thank you, as well to those who donated homemade goods, baking and purchased items. Many people helped set up, serve food, do dishes, clean up etc. Thanks to Jack who was a good sport and helped raise more money. Who knew his hair was worth so much? Thanks to Jen for using her skills to cap off the evening. Also, thanks to the Bazaar Committee who orchestrated this event!

 

Vacation Bible School: We are hoping to offer Vacation Bible School from August 9-13. We need many volunteers to impact the children around us and in our neighbourhood. Please prayerfully consider signing up for a variety of jobs at the back table. We will have a meeting to distribute materials sometime in May.

VBS: We are featuring a nautical theme. Would you be able to donate any of the following items: nets (soccer, badminton, volleyball), white sheets, ropes, blue tarps, lanterns, crates, barrels, anything nautical? These items will be labeled and returned to you in the same shape that it was brought to us. If you are able to donate or have any questions, please contact Vanessa or Lynda.

VBS Craft Items: Please help us explore the high seas this year for VBS. We are looking for old unwanted cds, sea shells and clear water bottles (500ml). If you can donate these items please put them in the box in the church foyer or give them to Shauna. Thanks!

 

An Invitation: The Nobleford GEMS club would like to invite the congregation to participate in the 2010 GEMS Amazing Race. This FUNdraising activity will take place on Saturday, April 24 beginning here at the church. The "race" starts at 1:30pm and will conclude with supper at 5 pm. Teams of all ages and abilities are encouraged to come and join in the fun. Registration sheets can be found in your mail slots today and we encourage everyone that is interested to sign up ASAP so that we can better plan for this exciting day. Registration is by donation payable the day of the race. Deadline for registration is Sunday, April 11. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact Lorinda or Benita. Thank you for supporting our local GEMS club.

Teams of four adults or one family are encouraged to come and join in the fun. Grandpas, grandmas and mixed teams are also welcome to come out.

 

 

 

The Lethbridge Christian Women's Choir would like to invite you to an evening of song and praise as we present our Spring concert, "The Power of the Cross" on April 10, 2010 at 7:30PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 1818 - 5th Ave. S. Lethbridge. Please mark your calendar as we would love to see you there.

 

The Lethbridge Christian Men’s Choir is hosting a concert of six men’s choirs on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Trinity Reformed Church in Lethbridge, commencing at 7:00 PM. Each choir will be performing two selections and the massed choirs will be singing six selections. Admission is by freewill offering.

ICES/ICHS Christian Education Week Activities – April 18 24, 2010

Immanuel Christian Schools will be celebrating Christian Education Week from April 18 24, 2010. A number of events are planned including Chapels (April 19 ICES, April 20 ICHS), Grandparents/Seniors Tea on Tuesday, April 20, an Open House on Wednesday afternoon, April 21 for those who are interested in visiting the schools, Roast Beef Dinner on April 23. SACSL - Soccer
Hello to all you soccer players!! The Southern Alberta Christian Sports
League is calling all soccer players to join our soccer league. We play
on Friday nights in Lethbridge. Last season we had 4 teams and we would
love to double that this year! Registration will remain open until the 12th of April. To register as a team or individual please visit our website at www.sacsl.webs.com. You
must be over 18 before the 1st of May 2011 to play. Fees are $875 per team and $60 per individual. We will be hosting a preseason tournament on Saturday the 17th of April to meet your team, more details to follow. Regular season games will be on Fridays starting April 23rd until the end of August. The Annual GEMS Conference Expected to be a Great Event! Over 400 women have registered for the 2010 Annual Counselors’ Leadership Conference! If you currently are, or are planning to be a GEMS Counselor, we hope you will join us! In addition to great training and encouragement many counselors testify that this event is one of the great spiritual mile-markers in their lives. The Conference will be held July 22-25, 2010 at Bethel University in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN. Join us as we Feed the Fire! and re-ignite our passion for God and the girls in our clubs! GEMS SUMMER CAMP 2010

Calling all Girls! - Its time to think about summer camp! Talk to your parents and friends; get your registration in early so you wont miss out. Even if you do not attend GEMS, you are more than welcome to come and enjoy crafts, activities, great food, singing, campfire, worship and sharing the love of Christ together.

Depending on the weather, we will spend one day at the Waterslide or indoors at the Recreation Centre. Waterslide coupons are will not be needed.

If you are going into grade five through eight in the fall of 2010, and wish to have a great summer experience this is for you! As well, we will be running a JCIT (Junior Counselor in Training) program for girls entering grade 10. (first 6 girls accepted cost $50.)
